who? (soz it’s our bio again)

Conor Neylon and Jackson Peele are a young passionate Australian Musical Theatre writing duo. They are determined individuals who have come together to create the kind of shows and stories they want to see on the Australian stage; stories that speak of problems and hardships, of people with things to say and music that sings of emotion and energy. That is new and fresh and vibrant!

Since fatefully meeting in Perth, Western Australia they have created four musicals, and collaborated together on multiple cabarets.

Their musical Beau Wants to Be A Billionaire has been workshopped by The University of Melbourne Music Theatre Association and has been selected for a reading with The Home Grown Grassroots Initiative as well as a virtual read with Hope: New Works. They presented Kate, Gus & The Other Kids at FringeWorld 2019 and wrote the music and lyrics to the cabaret MAVIS (& Other Broken Objects).

They presented a sold out season of their musical The House on Fire at The Edge of the World at Theatre Works at the beginning of 2021. Their musical The Beep Test, was awarded the Julie Michael Cabaret Award (2019), was nominated for the Martin Sims Award (2020), was award for ‘Best Performance Ensemble,’ as well as a nomination for ‘Best Theatre’ for the 2022 Melbourne Fringe Season, and was awarded an Adelaide Fringe 2023 Best Theatre Weekly Award. Most recently, they received three nominations for the Green Room Theatre Awards 2023 for The Beep Test for ‘Best Ensemble’, ‘Best Supporting Actor’ (Josh Reckless), ‘Best Music Direction’ (Conor Neylon) and won the award for ‘Best New Australian Music Theatre Writing’ (Neylon & Peele).
